Trinity Fly Shop ClassesA) Learn how to fly fish:

We offer a comprehensive fly fishing "crash" course for anglers at all skill levels. Course instruction will focus on tackle/equipment review, hands-on fly casting, wading, on-water demonstrations, fishing methods and strategy; knot and leader formulas, fly coordination and fish behavior. Both full and half day courses are available. Full day outing includes a float trip to allow you to practice your skills over productive waters.

Let us help you get started or fine tune your abilities on our local waters. We will lead you to becoming an accomplished fly fisher. All gear provided by Trinity Fly Shop if desired. Course is limited to a maximum of 3 anglers per guide. Fly fishing is a great sport that takes practice but the rewards are fantastic. Many relate the sport as "the experience of a lifetime." B) Women in fly fishing:

Increasingly popular and taught by Pat Burton. Courses restricted to only two anglers per session to ensure that personalized attention you deserve. Beginning and advanced course available.

C) Youth fly fishing:

That's right. One is never too young to learn! We have designed a fun-to-learn elementary fly fishing course especially for youths 8 years and up. These 1-day courses include a float down the river, highlighting the day, and possibly freeing up time for the parents to focus on their fly fishing as well.

Trinity Fly Shop Casting LessonsD) Casting lessons:

(Single, Switch and Spey) Two hour minimum ($30.00/Hr) Available for single and multiple anglers wanting to either learn a brief casting foundation or fine tune and hone current skills. All lessons either on water or on our manicured casting lawn. Limited to 4 anglers per instructor.


E) Angling Entomology:

EntomologyEver wonder what fly to use and when and where to use it? Baffled when hatch matching? Our Entomology class is just for you - everything you ever wanted to know about aquatic insects but were afraid to ask. We offer full day entomology field trips to our favorite rich and fertile waters to help you learn, experience (hands-on identification) and cultivate a thorough understanding of the basic aquatics, underwater food chain, and eliminate the guess work with fly selections. Entomology field trips are geared for easy understanding and structured to allow all angling levels. The information you gain in these courses will help you to advance to successful fly fishing. Half day walk-in trips designed to familiarize clients with Trinity County's only Fly Only zero limit fishery. Learn access to productive waters, fly coordination, aquatic cycles, hatch matching, dry and wet fly presentations and much more. Great for first time anglers wanting to eliminate the guesswork.
